Get the 2009 CDT ES-62i, They are awesome! They are one step up from the HD's and they are very good . The tweeters are drt-26 and the crossovers are satnet 560. I have yet to hear a negative review about this comp set. The midbass is very strong and has great impact, the midrange is very smooth and detailed, and the tweeters are also smooth in the sail panels. I can listen at high volumes for extended periods of time without fatiguing my ears. These speakers are also very efficient.

If you decide to get the HD anyway, they will fit fine with a 1in spacer, that is what I have and I have no problems.

Thanks for the replies guys, I appreciate it. Well, I feel good knowing that these speakers will fit. I don't think I'll be going to the ES-62is though; they are way beyond my budget. I wanted to get these HDs because of many positive reviews, and since they come with the ES-200z crossovers, I feel good about the price ($299). I'm in no way going for a competition sound, just something that'll please my ears to and from work. Anything is better than my blown underpowered Infinity Kappas... hehe.

Oh and as for powering them, I'll be picking up a JL300/2. Should be be good to go, no? Next phase of the project will be to get a sub.

Cheers
