Speaker Spacers Required

This may be a noob question, but are speaker spacers required to install all aftermarket speakers? I have a pair of Focal K2Ps I am planning on installing this weekend.

If its like the Z - YES you will need them cause the window will hit the speaker magnet. I used my stockers for the spacers...you will see what I mean when you take that door panel off..

its not so much you need the spacer, its the fact that the factory door speakers are oddliy sized

you will see what I mean once you get the door off

get some decent spacers or make your own

to make your own, take the factory speaker out and trace. Cut holes using the factory speaker pattern

get some mdf wood

and a jig saw or a router

trace the factory speaker with a pen/pencil on a sheet of paper

clamp the paper down to the wood.

cut out the pattern

same with the bolt holes, just trace and cut.

mine didnt come out as pretty as some but they work

you need these for both the doors and the rear sides:

Or you can just use the old speakers - as the spacers (I gutted mine). Just cut out the crappy paper speaker and cut the plastic thats holding it in place..

You dont have to pay for anything...

take factory speakers trace them on a piece of 3/4" mdf, take the cutout for your speaker and center it. cut out your inside, cut out the outside. take a 7" round bucket fill with resin and hardener up to about 1" drop spacer in bucket. let it sit for a minute, take it out and drop the other one in. allow them to dry. and you have waterproof speaker spacers
