Two 15" Kickers??

So i have a friend who's offering me a great price on 2 15" kickers with a box, the only problem is will the 15" be to much? i have an 06 coupe i dont want any rattling, and a nice clear sound. Still have the stock bose sound system and haven't decided yet on a specific amp. What do you guys think? the rattling is what im most worried about.

Two 15s are way over kill. Even one 15 IMO. 12 is the biggest i'd go. 10 being ideal for space and just a clean sound. If you go with the 15/s id dynamat the hell out of it cause its gonna have that ghetto rattle.

You could end up with rattle depending on your install regardless, but you could fit 4 15s without much rattle if you spend the time and effort to properly dynamat/soundproof the trunk and rear interior sections

I haven't heard Kicker 15s in a while, but not likely the optimum choice for "nice clear sound" and will probably be difficult to tune to a stock sound system.

Personally I'm with Tian, 10s are a good choice for being compact and overall pretty accurate/clean. There are 12s out there that can maintain the same sound quality but I don't know too many 15s that have pulled it off.

Depends on your tastes. Personally I was considering going with 2 15's but I need to keep my trunk space so I'm sticking with a single 15.

As for rattles, almost any sub is going to produce rattles, it all depends on the volume, resonant frequency, etc.

You can fit the 15's in there, not sure about the box, depends on dimensions, but it will take up the majority of your trunk.

I would steer away from Kicker subs because they don't sound that great. Do they get loud? Yes, they can, but they sound too distorted IMO.

As for accuracy, the size of the sub does NOT matter and if someone says so otherwise I'd like to see documented and tested proof. I've ran a bunch of different subs and different sizes and it's the subs specs (t/s paramaters) and the enclosure itself that will determine how "accurate" a sub will play. I've ran a couple different 18's in my old vehicle and it was as smooth, clean, and accurate (actually better) than what you would find in smaller subs. I've also had smaller subs, a single 10 that would get louder than subs with a trio of 12's, 2 15's, some 18's etc with a fraction of the power...it's mainly about the install and partly about the sub choice.

If you want to stick with a pair of 15's, make sure you deaden the trunk walls and trunk lid, but that will not fully solve the rattling and vibrating but will help alot. Also, make sure you have enough airspace for the sub if you need to make another one, otherwise, you're better off going with a pair of 12's or stick with that single 15....get the optimum enclosure for optimal performance.
