if im using the metra 70-7551 does the black/white (amp ground) is that for the bose amp and if I am not using the bose amo should I still ground it with the solid black?
Also, the reverse gear signal input doesnt have to be used since im not using a back up cam correct?

If you're not using the bose amp, you won't need to worry about the amp ground wire on that harness, since you'll be putting a fat gauge wire to a new ground.
Yes, no back up cam means you don't need to do anything with the reverse wire. Just tape it up and keep it out of the way where it won't ground out.

It's in! Special BIG thank you to Wrathernaut! ![Big Grin](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

The only problems I have are:
a) The Metra AXXESS SWC isn't work. I followed the directions and the only wire I had to get was the one I had to ground (pin 11). Was that the only one? Or do I have to get everything else?
b) I forgot to plug in the USB cable that came with the headunit into the back before I put everything back together. LOL.
c) Some fitment issues where it touches the trim when it opens and closes (it makes a sound near the top of the cycle when it "breaks free"). The movement is still fluid-like, I just have that little snapping sound.

I have the ground wire, the power wire, what's the reference ground?
Oh, right, I was wondering about that last harness. I just followed the instructions, so it didn't tell me anything about that. I just connected the Black to ground, Red to accessory, Gray/Red and White/Green to those pins, and disconnected that wire in pin 11 and grounded that.

- The metra black wire goes to the ground wire on the head unit's harness (black)
- The metra Red wire goes to the accessories power wire on your head unit's harness (Red)
- The metra grey/red wire goes to the red wire on the steering wheel harness
- The metra white/green wire goes to the green wire on the steering wheel harness
- The yellow wire on the steering wheel harness also goes to the ground wire (Black) on the head unit's wiring harness.
The steering wheel harness that the controller is wired into is the smaller of the two connectors left over when you plug in every thing else. I cut off the steering wheel connector and replaced it with a 4 pin connector from a old computer fan harness for the connection of the three wires that came off the steering wheel harness to the metra controller so if I have to remove it again everything unplugs easily.

Oh, I see, but what I meant was regarding this:
I thought I was supposed to put those colored wires into the connector. I didn't know I was supposed to solder the white/green and gray/red to said wires on the steering wheel harness.
I'm confused and probably confusing myself even more. LOL

The PAC ROEM-NIS2 Nissan/Bose Radio Replacement Interface worked very well also, no sound issues with it at all, works perfectly.
The Metra Axxess ASWC universal steering wheel controller gave me the most grief (trying to find out how to wire it up) and to my surprise it worked. .

Wrathernaut - my Kenwood sounds good using the 70-7551, would you still reccommned the PACROEM-NIS2? by looking at the pictures of it, it doesn't appear to have RCAs to plug into the HU, or am I missing something?
![Dunno](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/dunno.gif)
Thanks.

G35Dude - do you have any lag when using the Metra Axxess ASWC controller? I'm getting ready to swap out my Kenwood to the AVH3200DVD and was considering using the Metra because I can't stand the lag on the Kenwood using the PAC ???? (whatever # it is) steering wheel control unit that a originally installed w/ the Kenwood.

It doesn't have RCAs on it, but it can use the low-level signals from your headunit if you get some RCA terminals on the wires.
