Tell me what to buy
Hey all,
so I've never really looked or posted in this section... But it's about time for some audio upgrades for my G. I already have the double DIN kit with dual AC, Pioneer DEH-6000UB head unit, iPod cord ran to center console. I've had systems in my previous vehicles and I'm no idiot when it comes to audio so feel free to spit any lingo or scientific terms at me... But I need recommendations for what to buy in my 03 sedan. I'd like to get new components and coaxials, and put them on an amp. Then I'd like a subtle sub... I'm thinking 8w7 with JL amp. I'm already wired up for power, gnd, remote, and 3 pairs of rcas. Give me suggetions for excellent sound quality!!

I guess that would be important huh? I don't really have a budget in mind. Let's just say... I'm trying to be economical here with prices but I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for"... So I'm willing to spend a little more on a product that's worth it.
I listen to a good amount of rap. A lot of underground, mixtapes, etc... But I usually need that extra volume for rock music.. I guess I listen to everything but country honestly. And my definition of "quality" is a powerful system that is stable at full volume and still has crisp attack, 0 distortion, and a bass hit that you can feel in your throat.... But doesn't cause "rattle". (sealed enclosure for sure)

Usually SPL is more suited for rap than SQ, and SPL is almost always cheaper to get.
Again, economical and such is still relative.
Some people see $100 speakers as expensive, others consider them crap.
If you're really concerned with SQ, be sure you're putting some money aside for some sound deadener material as well.

sounds like you want something that gets loud and sounds good.
SQ is geared more to staging, time alignment, etc. Making the sound as "prefect" as you can in a car. Once you sit in a tuned SQ car you feel like crap when you get back in your car
loud and sounds good subs ive used .....
DD 12" 3500 series
RE Se 10"
Id Max...bit more SQ but can get loud if needed.
MTX 7500....eh...decent but wish it would take more power.
Elemental Designs ev10...got it on sale. Sub actually impressed me with 500rms.
ive used many but those are the few that stuck out in my head at the current time

Thanks for your input! I've got sale pending on a Precision Power PCX-2200 amp and also on a 10w7 in enclosure (vented). I'm stoked about them! I really wanted the 8 inch for the price but it's ok I got the 10" for a good deal! I'm anxious to get it all and hook it up!!
What do you guys recommend for components? I had type R's in my integra... They were OK.... Loud but the quality wasn't anything to rave about. I've looked at RE audio's and they too are expensive. Anything else wonderous out there I haven't heard of? Ideally, I'd like Focal... As I have them for all home applications:.. But they are through the roof expensive
