Thumbs up Is $1,000 good enough for a decent sound system?

Here's the deal guys, I have a Double Din / Double Din kit w/ rear view camera already installed on my ride. Pretty much I had enough w/ my OEM Bose speakers. My Bose speakers sounded 10x better w/ the stock Head Unit. Now that I have my Aftermarket head unit installed It pretty much sounds like crap. so I'm guessing I will have to get some interior speakers, subs and amps. Looking to spend no more then $1,000.00

Now I need help on what type of speakers, subs & amp to get. (Install shouldn't be a problem. my homie will hook me up) but My buddy suggested I can go with Kickers for everything.

What's your suggestion? remember I have my double din already installed. Also I'm not looking for nothing show quality, Just looking for a nice bang and crisp speakers on my long daily trips.

Fi ssd 10 for the sub - 180

tihs for the amp -

http://cgi.ebay.com/AUDIOPIPE-APSM-1300-2000W-MONO-Car-Audio-MINI-Amplifier-/390207540873?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item5ada2e8e89
i know its cheap but it is a legit brand and i personally know about 5 poele running this amp and it pounds. i have this same amp and the sub that i mentioned.

so there is a sub and amp for 300 and you still have 700 to spend on speakers

Also I'm a big fan of the Kicker L5 sub. It has a nice deep pound to it. Also I'm wondering is 1 sub good enough?

Here's a member on the forum Set up

* Inferring that homie and "deep pound" = you listen primarily to rap *

Don't take this as rap hate too much, but SQ's pretty much not worth paying for on rap.

Just get a pair of 12's in a zenclosure, and power your stock speakers directly from the headunit.

$400 for a pair of 12" subs, $130 for the zenclosure and $470 towards an amp will make your rap sound like rap's supposed to sound.

If rap is your main music, don't bother with JL. Kicker will sound just as good for 99% of rap.

^^
Yes rap is played 99% of the time.

Ok do I really need 2 pairs of subs or 1 will be worth it? (just asking, not trying to be cheap)

so If i go with the Zenclosure (like the picture below)

Then I will have to get the kicker L5 10" 4 ohm (to pair both speakers correct?)

What type of amp should push these pairs of subs?
they have the Zx300.1 , Zx500.1 ($199.00) & Zx1500.1 ($449.95) all comes w/ bass ****.

Where rap's going for quanitity over quality, a pair will probably be the best bet.

A pair of 4 ohms will be pretty good, and paired with the 1500.1 (wired in parallel for 2ohms total load) will give a very solid thump for your rap with some headroom, just be sure you don't crank the gain all the way or you could overpower those subs.

Walk around, bargain with each store, and buy the store that gives you the best customer service with deals...
cash is always better..
I always go to 11st for my audio equipment. All my previous vehicles.
Before the used to charge no tax, now its regulated. (so they say)

Ok Just spoke w/ some Audio guy he said

I will need to get Dual 2 ohm speakers, Kicker L5 10" $135.00 each (pair will be $270.00)

also he quoted me for the Kicker Amp Zx1000.1 for $400.00

then the Zenclouser is $130.00

so that in total will be around $800.00

But the problem I'm having now Is I will have to wait to get interior speakers or shop around til i find a better deal for everything.

That amp is NOT 1 ohm stable, so 4 ohm setup on each sub would be the only real option

You need two Kicker L5 10" dual 2 ohm voice coil subs configured in 4 ohm mode to go with that amp. You'll wire the two of them in parallel to get an overall 2 ohm load.

Are you going to be installing everything yourself? If not, remember to leave room in your budget for installation.
