replacement for the stock bose woofer?
does anyone know where could I find a replacement for my stock bose woofer?
mine stopped working and i would like to just replace it instead of buying a different subwoofer and going through an entirely different installation process.
i think the separate amp on the woofer is the part that went out on me, so if i could at least buy that part i should be set. the speaker itself doesn't look damaged.
I like the sound the BOSE makes so if anyone on here could help me out on this you would be my new hero!!
ps. i took out my back panel because my high mount stop light stopped working so im absolutely ready to install a replacement woofer right now
2003 g35 sedan w/bose
thanks to anyone for helping me out

The amp on the rear deck powers everything in the Bose system. If that amp goes out, you won't get any sound at all.
8" woofers are not common. Your choices are here:

My budget recommendation would be this one:
http://www.woofersetc.com/p6960/P1S4...-Subwoofer.htm
Which should be ok with the weak output from the Bose amp.
This one's probably the best bang-for-buck one, but would be very underpowered with the Bose amp.

I'd highly recommend adding a mono channel amp in the 200 watt RMS range to get the most out of either of those subs.

thanks for all the info
i might decide to go in that direction if i cant find anyone willing to sell me the stock bose speaker with the wire harness
im looking to see if maybe someone on here has upgraded out of their stock bose speaker and is looking to maybe sell me that one? i want the sound to be stock if at all possible
i cant find the speaker at infiniti parts usa so im guessing its extremely difficult to find through a catalog

and
if you like the stock sound cool
junk yard or such is gonna be your best bet
have you pulled the driver and checked to see if its blown?
Use a multimeter and turn it to 200ohms or whatever the lowest impedance setting is.
Should get around 2 ohms.
If you get ~2ohms the sub works and it might be the amp or possibly a loose connection
if you do replace the sub you need to find one that will do free air

and the speaker itself works too.
my only guess is whatever that thing is inside the plastic harness that converts cables before they reach the cone might be out?
either that or my wiring went wrong somewhere...

Add a second amp capable of powering a "real" 8" woofer that works well in an infinite baffle setup and reinforce the hell out of the rear deck and you're set.
Just replacing the woofer without replacing the amp is wasted effort. There's virtually nothing that's below 100w RMS. Lowest I can find readily available is the JL 8w1v2, at 35-150w RMS, but again, it takes power to overcome the larger magnets in subwoofers, so the 25-ish watts the bose amp puts out is not going to get it to move much.

You want an 8", 4-ohm subwoofer. You may need to make a spacer or cut the rear deck depending on the actual size of your woofer.
Budget recommendation for working with Bose amp:
Rockford Fosgate P1S4-8 (about $60)
Best bang-for-buck, but needs more power than the bose amp puts out:
JL 8w3v3-4
It powers everything.
