JDM DD kit fitment issues..

Just bought the JDM DD kit from Infiniti Dealership..as I was getting ready to install my single din flip out indash I noticed it was too big(Measuring from side to side) to fit into the dask kit. Do I need to re-cut the dash kit to fit my single din indash in? Or did the dealership give me the wrong kit? Please help.. I need to know if I should bring it back in for a swap or what?

Wait, you're trying to put in a flip out screen into a double din? Wouldn't that not work regardless?

^ I'm guessing he already owned one.

OP - There's usually substantial room around any headunit with the JDM to the point that you need a spacer to fill a gap. WTF brand/model is this flip-out that it's too big to fit in an already oversized hole?

I ran into same issue with DD Clarion NX 500 I am currently installing. I had to grind sides of DD opening just a fraction of mm on each side.

EXACTLY...The JDM is a little smaller then the metra. I'm gonna have to grind the sides just a little to fit in flip out indash in it! It's only off by a few mm..But still the deck won't fit in without a little grinding on the sides.(Dam n, I don't wanna grind this thing down. I thought this was direct fitment for after market decks?)

I chose the single din indash because I didn't wanna purchased another indash double din. Besides, I like the flip outs more.

I have both metra and the JDM DD Kit..Here's some pics.
(I didn't wanna force the deck in as it will scratch the sides)

(Here's the Metra kit, fits with no grinding on the sides)

(Here are the measurements for both metra and JDM..JDM DD kit off by half of inch)

(should I just grind these sides or return it and keep the metra? I really like jdm one, but what's the point of keeping it if it doesn't fit?)

Yeah, it's been done before:*

Parts list here:

*I can't guarantee that's the parts used in that picture, and the guy who it came from hasn't been on the board for years.
