Where do you guys mount your amps??

Hi guys,

I will be installing the following this weekend, but I couldn't decide where to mount my amps.

Here are the stuff I have:

Focal components for fronts
Boston acoustics sc65 for rear panels
Rockford fosgate 10" subs (two of them in a sealed box)
Soundstream 4.920 amp
Pioneer 150w amp (i know its old)
Pioneer P4200dvd

So like the title says, where do you guys usually mount your amps?
backseat?

Please give me your suggestions. Thanks!

In a coupe, I'd build a shelf under the rear deck so that the fold-down seats would still be available.

In the sedan, I just put them on the back of the rear seats, since there's no fold-down to lose.

Hehe..I forgot to mention which type I have. My G35 is a 2003 coupe.

I have sealed box that will probably sit right behind the dack seat so I am already going to lose that option.

How hard is it to build a rack under the rear deck in a scale of 1-10?
1= Really easy
2-9=???
10= You need a pro

Here's an old shot of my set-up. I've since moved the JBL MS-8 under the rear deck and added another Planet Audio tube amp for the sub. I had to make an all new board as it was to short for both amps and I devised a way to make the board easily replaceable if and when my amp set-up changes.

The MS-8 is mounted on drop down brackets that bolt in to where the factory amp bolts to. I used all existing mounting holes. It's just barely visible with the cover in place. I can get some shots for you tom. or something.

There's a surprisingly large amount of room between the trunk carpeting trim and the top of the rear deck, especially if you remove the 6x9s.

Here are a few updated one's that I had to take with my phone. The MS-8 is mounted onto a piece of MDF which is then secured to the drop down brackets. I just bent some scrap I had laying around into "C" shaped brackets. I only used 3 brackets because 1 would have gotten in the way of the power, ground, and remote terminals. Keep in mind your gonna have to remove the factory sub and work around the seat belts also. I hope this helps a little.

Thanks for the pics guys..
Now that I've seen it, I think making an amp rack under the rear deck is the best way IMO..

Is it possible to just use the screw holes for the 6x9 in the rear deck to mount the amp rack or I have to drill holes?

Thanks!
