Keep Sub Box From Moving?

I took my 12's from my old car and going to put them into the G. Is there a way to keep the sub box from moving around without drilling holes in the trunk? If not, what are some really good cheap sub boxes for 2 12" Fosgates? Maybe one that still gives me trunk room.

You can try velcro on the bottom of the sub box. On many cars the "hook" part of velcro will attach to the trunk carpet and make it very difficult to move the box around.

Your other option would be to install backstrapping (or plumbers strapping) to the box and try to find something up high to tether it to. Screwing down to the floor is difficult because the spare tire well is pretty big.

^ He beat me to it.

Velcro sticks quite well to our car's trunk carpet.

Thanks, I still may need a smaller box.

How much air space do your subs require? How big is your current box?

I'm not sure about the air space, but the box is just a regular 2 12" sub box. Its to tall to fit in the trunk. It could only fit where the trunk opens and I still need a little bit of a trunk.

There is no such thing as a "regular" sub box. The cubic volume of the box is extremely critical in the performance of your subs. Most sub manufacturers recommend a box that is +/- 10% of their recommended air space. So, for example, if you have two subs that need 1.5cuft a piece you will need a box that is 3.0 cuft, but a box between 2.7cuft and 3.3 cuft would work. 0.3 cu ft is equivalent to 12"x12"x4". Not a whole lot of space to play with.

There is an old saying that the worst sub in its ideal enclosure will outperform the best sub in its worst enclosure.

^^^What he said! !
I ended just putting one 12 due to the air space required for the sub. I put matching carpet on the sub with no velcro or anything on the box. It doesn't really move. Plus i have it so that i can remove it whenever i need the space to carry stuff in the back.
