Custom Boxes
I've seen some nice custom boxes here on the site, 4080, etc. Just wondering if there's any demand for any other types of boxes? A friend and I can do just about any type of fiberglass enclosure. I currently have 1 12" in a box similar to the 4080 sedan box. I know, pics would be nice, but I haven't had time yet.
Let me know what, if anything, types of other boxes, etc. you'd be interested and we can build it (and at a reasonable price). Coupe or sedan.

Re: Custom Boxes
If you made a stealth box like the one that BLKSNAKE built, then I wouldn't have had to build one myself.
Look up his site for a description:

I'm sure there are other people like myself that would appreciate a professionally box like the one he has.

Re: Custom Boxes
Gizmos_G35,
Thanks for the compliment. I'm very pleased with my sub enclosure.
The trouble with mass producing a enclosure like mine is that many G35 Coupe owners would have to relocate the stock BOSE amp and/or satellite receiver. My car didn't come with either so it was not an issue.
If I was in the market today, I would give serious consideration to the existing pre-built boxes mentioned in this and other recent threads. From what I've seen, they look fantastic and you'll be saved from parting with your G while a custom box is fabricated.

Re: Custom Boxes
Pix of mine... =)
No need to relocate the amp.
I built mine (custom fiberglass, 7 layers) because I wanted more internal volume for my JL10w3v2. The spec for the 10w3v2 calls for ~0.6-0.9cu ft net volume. My internal volume was ~1.1cu ft so with the subwoofer displaced, it's ~0.85cu ft "net" internal volume. So if your box is ~0.9cu ft to begin with, you're running on the low end of what JL recommends and you'll have to add poly fill to bridge the gap to artificially add more volume.
When I have time, I'll try to post a DIY for those who want to build their own. Just to warn you, it takes a great deal of time. Mine took me about 50hours total for the amp/sub wiring/fiberglass enclosure... but WELL worth it IMO!!

Re: Custom Boxes
All--
Sorry for not replying sooner, busy week trying to get caught up so I can take off most of next week to go snowboarding, woohoo.
Moog, I'll pm you and I'm sure we can come up with something that you'll like. If you don't mind, we'd also be interested in checking out your trunk to see about building a stealthbox like the one blksnake has for other members.
Once we get a mold and we have at least a couple buyers, we can get these out pretty quick, 3 days or so...(my friend has far too much time on his hands.)

Re: Custom Boxes
Blksnake,
I agree that if you put in a sub box like yours, then you'll loose the Bose amp, but is that really such a bad thing. If you're adding a nice sub, you're probably upgrading the amp at the same time, so it might not be as big of an issue.
I don't know how big the sattelite radio module is, but it could probably be relocated.
Of course if everyone was as smart as you and I and opted out of the Bose and saved our money for a nice aftermarket system, then the existing electronics isn't an issue.......LOL!

You might check with a local installer for a custom build. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
Thanks.
