Any remote mount system that has the proper outputs for the Xenarc screen. Take a look on Crutchfield for remote mounted navigation systems.

Hey Pratik97,

what type of navigation system do you have or plan to get? What are the proper outputs for the xenarc screen?

xenarc takes in either vga or composite (normal yellow rca plug)

I'd bet that most gps systems out there work just fine on the composite, but font legibility may be poor.

rlin, I have gone the route of putting in a computer in my car and will go with navigation software. The touchscreen may be a little more expensive but if you are gonna buy a seperate navigation unit, you may be better off putting an old laptop (like me) into your car and hooking it up to Xenarc and then get some navigation software and you're good to go with a touchscreen.

Pratik97, where do you plan to put your laptop and also what do you power your laptop with? Let me know where you get your navigation software, sounds like an interesting setup. Thanks

So of the best advice I can give you is to check out www.mp3car.com. I've spent lots of time there reading around and learning everything. I'm actually going for a "newbie" setup and not going all out with a tower in my trunk. Having a laptop IMO is an easy solution to get what you want.

You can get several navigation options out there. A software called Co-Pilot is real nice or even Microsoft Maps and Streets. Can probably pick it up off Ebay for a decent price including gps navigator and all. I plan on putting the laptop underneath the passenger seat in my coupe and then powering it up with a notebook adapter (you can just use a cigarette port but I will be hardwiring mine to the ignition line). You can find those anywhere for $15-$20. Thats it and you're done pretty much. I'll have a DVD drive in the laptop which I can then wire to the glovebox or just leave in the laptop. The great thing about this is I got my laptop for practically free from my company because we throw out old laptops with broken screens and since you don't actually need a working screen with this, it works great. Mine has a crack in the screen but with the Xenarc screen hooked up to it, it will look great.

Personally I think the best software for the money is iguidance.

Destinator and copilot have nicer interfaces, but are $$$.
