subwoofer recommendations

I wanted to get some input on a space saving but great sounding sub, I know the JLtw5 but what else can I choose from that will leave me some decent trunk space? The sub will be powered by a JL 750/1. Thanks in advanced.

are you looking for boomy bass or more sound quality?
the tw5-13 is a great sub but isnt very heavy on the SPL, but it wasnt made for that.

I have heard decent things about the new thin type r's but I havent heard them myself

1.00 ft^3 sealed -- F3 of 44 Hz
* For SQ and space limited applications

Thats the box specs for a sealed enclosure... you should be good, but idk the cubic feet of the boxology.

Ported box just incase you wanted to know.

1.75 ft^3 ported tuned to 30 Hz -- F3 of 26 Hz
* Tune higher and use a smaller box for more SPL oriented setup (Use 1 - 1.5 cubes)
* Enclosure can be as big as 2.25 ft^3 with lower power levels

SPL, but it sounded really nice. It was in a ported box. In a seal it should sound good for SQ.
