What do you mean? It honestly sounds like your deck is shot. Probably best to invest in a new one. If its only working half the time.... or less.

It may be the motor to the unit. Does it say open when you hit the button? It could be that the motor is bad, or that the connection in the HU is bad. Could be a curcuit board thing.

I meant circuit not curcuit.

CDs?

Get a unit that supports iPod properly and leave them at home where they belong.

Well Wrathernaut I'm with you,if I can't figure this out I guess I'll buy a new HU,I just didn't want to drop a $1000 right now,I spent a fortune on my new super charger for my C5 . I'll just keep hoping some one out here can shed some light on my problem. When the cd door opens it is fine for a while and never gets stuck in the down or open position.

I can pretty much guaranty the cd mechanism has failed if it isn't properly releasing cds, I mean that deck is what, 5+ years old?

I've seen them fail in all brands of HUs

I'll agree to switching to a hard drive of some form..

If you've already got the DDin setup, even a basic (by today's standards) Pioneer AVH-3400BH would be a nice upgrade. Just get standalone navigation to go with it, as there's still no built-in navigation that comes close to what a $150 garmin can do, and adding navigation to headunits makes manufacturers charge a good $400 more for an equivalent unit.

I have the same issue with my kenwood DNX8120, the buttons have stopped working.

It looks like the manufacturer just use cheap parts

My old Pioneer Preimier 960MP had the ribbon issue with the head unit. Basically the unit wont open
