there's lots of space for it.
IMO, there are alot of better sounding and louder 10s on the market. The W7s are nice, but they are far from the be all/end all of subwoofers

Re: JL 10W7 in my trunk, will it fit?
Hey, saw your post and i thought to reply. Well, this is actually one that runs along my lines. I bought the g35 sedan and put a JL Audio 10W7 in the trunk and it thumps. My bro has 2 12" JL Audio W7's in the trunk of a g35 coupe, and it fits, but uncomfortabley. Sure, a 10W7 will fit in there, but use a slot ported box because i have found that those work the best in smaller trunks. any amp 1000 watts and under works nicely with that speaker, but lower the decibel rating on the amp until you have broken the speaker in. By the way, i have my w7 rigged to my stock woofer and radio setup.

First of all thats a lie, JL W7's are the best subs on the market, and the answer to your question is yes a 10 w7 can fit i currently have one..... however you must make a custom box and this muyst be carefully done b/c the coup's trunk is very small and these subs need a decent size box b/c they are so powerful producing alot of pressure, i have a 10 w7 now, it sounds great, i have a 1000 watt JL amp powering it, as well as a JL amp powering my MB quart Interior speakers, you dont need to get a new face, as far as keeping the stock speakers i guess you can do that, but i recomend that you get aftermarket ones, b/e im not a big fan of the bose speakers and the quality at which they produce. I like the 10in but i dont have much trunk space so im switching and getting three 8in w7's they are not out yet but they will be in a couple weeks and i will deff get them.

I don't want to argue with about woofers, just wanted to let the people know that the W7 has its limits too.
I think the entire W7 lineup is great, but what they are truly best at is being able to reproduce alot of low frequency bass (below 40 Hz) ina realtively small-sealed box. Of course, theW7 also works very well in ported and bandpass boxes too. It is just that since JL had "full extension in a small sealed box" as one of their design parameters, the W7s sacrifice efficiency and upper sub bass SPL.

I plan on keep my speakers right now because I dont want to put too much money into it.. I know they dont compare to Mb quartz... I know, in my old 2k accord coupe, I have MB quartz all around and 2 10w3s in my trunk. That was awesome, the quartz produce such qreat quality sound. The bose isn't that great at the high end range, but its good enough.
DaGS1800 - where'd you put your 10w7? I am plannign to put in the center of my trunk(as far back as possible) and hiding my amp somewhere in the front or something like that. I am definitely gett'n a custom install, but I was wondering how you set yours up.. oh by the way how much trunk space did you lose?

Well i didnt really lose that mcuh trunk space at all b/c i did a full out custom install, i removed the spare tire and placed the amps in the lower compartment, as well as the power cap and the black light, I put quality plexi glass over the compartment so it shows, with a large infiniti logo on it, then recarpeted the whole trunk, the sub is in a cutom box which fits into the back of the trunk taking up very little space, foward but the box itself is wide because of the space that the sub needs.

The W7 is nice but the problem is that they use up too much power. A Diamond Audio HEX MacDaddy sub (kevlar and buetal surrond) can do just as good of a job with less power. Unless you want to go deaf, than I recmommend the W7. As for Amps, Zapco all the way baby!

Re: JL 10W7 in my trunk, will it fit?
well i can promise you that there is no way to fit a 12w7 in the coupe trunk if you want it to face back. Your only option would be to face the sub upwards. a 10 is the biggest you can go if you want to face the sub back. You can fit anything in our trunk..even a 15...as long as you sacrifice the positioning of the woofer, which i wouldn't do.

Re: JL 10W7 in my trunk, will it fit?
please post pics of your installs... and what do you guys think is the best firing position for the sub? Should it be facing the rear? I'm thinking of doing a custom install also but I want the most trunk space out of it that I can get... If I get lazy, i'll probably just get an Infinity basslink...
