Upgrade Rear Speakers or go with Amp/Sub

Hey guys, I have a 07 non-bose unit and I just upgrade the fronts/tweeters with Polk DB6501s. They sound great but they are more of a mid-high speaker and lack bass. I was thinking of upgrading the rears with coaxials but wasn't sure if that was going to give me the added bass I'm looking for, or am I better off going with an amp/sub set up? I know the sub is the ideal way to go but I'm looking on the easier install since I time is something I don't have a lot of.

Will upgraded rears be good enough?

Amp/sub would be the setup for better bass. I had the same situation after upgrading only my front speakers at first. The stereo shop I used was able to add an amp and sub and then use the existing rear speakers for fill all in about an hour and a half on a busy Saturday. After this install, I actually had some real bass, not the artificially manipulated bass from the stock Bose amp.

Didn't amp it up since the speakers seemed efficient enough to work with the stock HU. Do you recommend an amp?

Midbass is there, just less bass than the stock speakers and I think that's expected from components correct?

It looks like the stock non-bose head unit does not have a pre-amp out, so I'll have to tap with a LOC to one of the lines. I could do this with the rear door speakers, but I've read post recommending doing at the head unit. What's the diff? Is there filter of the signal by the time it gets to the rear speaker?

^ This.

About 100w/channel will open up the bass a lot. If that's not enough for you, coaxials in the rear are NOT the way to go to get bass.
