Can anyone help me with my headunit?

Hi, I am new to this forum as I am now a proud owner of a 2006 g35 coupe. Now, I love my new g, but I am have problems with the stock headunit. I've researched alot and saw that g35 headunits die along with the a/c controller, but I have never seen anyone with a problem like mine. Here's just some info if you need to know
-Everything else in the car works perfect, including a/c and cruise control for that matter
-The headunit will turn on and off, and will eject and accept cds
-Previous owner had no idea why the headunit is acting up

I feel like it might be a wiring issue, and I was wondering if anyone could help me before I go out and have to purchase a new one. Thanks.

You're right. Never seen this exact symptom before, but if the power circuit has failed (the most common part to fail) and screwed up the front trim, there's not much that can be done but to replace it, and if the power circuit's screwed one up, a replacement may get killed immediately, or last a few years, it's anybody's guess.

Re-seating the ribbon cable might also help, but with these radios, replacement is really the best option.
