Polk dxi? Not the best of purchases, imo.

Pick something from here http://www.parts-express.com/brand/b...ers/523_38-391

Wrathernaut , I think you have space for IB.

You should give it a try

No, mine is sealed, but it's a sub that performs well in a sealed enclosure with a LOT of power.

I like against the trunk, since it projects entirely outward. if you put it against the rear seat, so it projects into the cabin, that's fine, but one against the rear seats that projects into the trunk is not optimal for in-car listening.

There's someone out here that recently had a 12w6 IB in their g37

Sounded FANTASTIC

Got loud, low, and was butter smooth with just 275 watts. It was a big step up from sealed and still no trunk space lost

The hybrid audio guys rub IB in the G too

My wife's has a single 10" Rockford Fosgage Punch P3, also in a 4080 box. Not as tight as the JL 10w6v2, but it was a bit cheaper.

Dynamat? No - too expensive and not very good. Vibration dampener? Yes - CLD tiles from www.sounddeadenershowdown.com

I also used minimal-expanding foam sealant iniside the spaces of the rear deck and other spaces to keep stuff stiff and rattle-free in the trunk.
hello wrathernaut. those enclousures are so nice and that cavity is perfect for a sub since its in seldom used real estate. wish i could find one used and local. until then i plan to build a box for a 10 and fire it through the ski-pass through. what amp are you running in the wifeys car and where is it mounted? thnx

It's an MTX 421D, got it used along with the box and sub. You can see it on the shelf I built a litle better here:

IMO the best/easiest and cheapest sound upgrade you can make.

Adding a sub automatically takes stress of factory speakers giving you the ablility to rely on your sub for the lower tones/bass taking the stress off other speakers.

So it basically gives you the ability to listen to louder, fuller music without breaking the bank.

Subs = 2
Brand = Alpine
Dual 4 ohm voicecoil (I highly recommend going with 1 dual 4 ohm or 2 dual 2 ohm subs) <---- best for wiring configuration in my opinion
Sealed Zenclosure custom box
2003 Sedan

I've had almost every brand out there and my top 3 in order are: ALPINE, Rockford Fosgate, Pioneer

If you need more help let me know. I'll take a picture once my zenclosure is installed it was just delivered yesterday!!! WOOT WOOT

Any opinions on this subwoofer?

Not a big audiohead but I would like to upgrade where I can. Let me know if I should pull the trigger!

As a friend........HELL NO Pyle is a POS in my opinion. You would have to turn the volume way up to notice anything and by then kaboom goes the sub. You get what you pay for.... For the $115 you can get a simple Pioneer 10 or 12 inch w/ a sealed or ported enclosure and a small amp to run it..... You would need a wiring kit either way so that's not factored into my Pioneer setup.

Seriously, if you want to give me a budget I'll gladly show you where you can get your parts.... I would really hate to see you put Pyle into a G.... Sh*t I'd hate to see you put Pyle into a Fiesta or donkey driven cart...
