A must do mod for those that are keeping the stock deck
Today I hooked up an Alpine Pxa-h510 surround sound decoder. This is a must do mod for those that want aftermarket sound while still keeping the stock deck. The unit also has an 11 band parametric eq, DSP, and digital time alignment. The system sounds great. I highly recommend this unit. Its cake to hook up as well.

Looks promising. How did you hook it up?

The time alignmet works perfectly, I have one 4 channel amp for my door speakers, and a mono sub amp. I got the unit on Ebay for $102. Ill see if I can get some picts of my install. Its very easy to hook up. Just connect the power, ground and remot wires and run your RCA's (from a LOC) into the unit, the out to your amps. There is a desplay screen that you can mount anywhere you choose. I mounted mine in the sunglass holder. Works and looks great. And when not being adjusted I just close the holder and you cant tell its there. The EQ allows my to tailor the sound perfectly (for my needs) and even has presets to save your settings. I really wanted a unit with DSP also. Now I have it and my sound is as good as most aftermarket systems I have heard. No DD for me. I will be getting one of those digitalwheelz screens thoughf for my nav system. By the way, you do not need to Bi-amp the components to take advantage of the time alignment feature.

The unit constists of two parts, the display(in my sunglass holder) and the brian (installed in my trunk). You will have to use aftermarket amps with this unit. If you have the bose unpulg the harness from the amp and find all the wires for the remote turn on, and and all the speaker in and outputs. Install your amps just as you normally would. You will have to use a LOC as well to convert your front speakers signal to RCA. The brain unit only has 1 set of RCA inputs and 3 Pairs out. So, just connect the input, and then run each of the RCA outputs to thier respective amplifier. There is also a small wiring harness that contains a remote wire, a power wire and a ground. Hook all that up and its happy days. I already had my amps installed prior to the DSP so I just had to connect the power and stuff and run new RCA's. Install took me about 45 minutes. Less if you dont put it where I did.
