E-SKY Backup Camera Installation Help

Hello all. Does anyone have a link or guidance with installation? It seems pretty simple, but could some input. Does anyone know which wire triggers the camera power when put into reverse? Thanks!

Well I am confused. There is a wire coming out of the harness of my pioneer 4100NEX that is labeled reverse. Where do I hook this up to? To the wire shown in the diagram by wrathernaut? Please elaborate. I am simple, so I need step by step instructions!! lol. sorry!!

Yes, the reverse signal wire on your Pioneer is spliced into the purple wire (coupe) or orange wire (sedan) that is show in the picture. Don't over think it. Use the pictured wiring diagram to guide you. Are you using a harness?

So i have the backup camera.

Backup Camera connections:

1 yellow video output > video input of pioneer?

1 red power > goes to the purple wire in the diagram?

1 black ground> ground obviously

Pioneer outputs:

Purple back up camera line> goes to purple wire in the diagram also

Yes

No. That's a power SIGNAL wire, not to power the camera. You can use the reverse light power wire to power the camera. You can generally use the reverse light as a signal wire too, if you want.

Yes

OK-Did that

I hooked the camera red line up to 12V accessory? Camera powers on, but doesn't do anything when I put it in reverse?

Be sure you tapped into the correct purple wire in the driver side kick panel. You'll need to make sure you are looking at the correct bunch of wires. Look at the picture and you'll see a white tag on the correct bundle of wires to look at. Use that as your guide.

There are many purple wires, at least 4 different. Can someone please describe exactly how this purple wire is coded.
