Newbie!
If you knew the reason for the 5 posts rule you would not think it is silly.

Question

Hi:

I read this entire thread but I don't see where you guys are relocating the stock Bose amp that is in the way of 4080's nice enclosure. Is the amp no longer needed i.e. is it just for the rear deck 6X9 subs?

Thanks.

4080, do you make the boxes for other vehicles as well? I have a buddy looking for a box for his 04 SVT Mustang Cobra.

I make boxes for the RX8 and C6 Corvette, no Mustang boxes, sorry.

Thanks for your interest, 4080

You do not need to remove or relocate the Bose 6X9s or amp. You will need to add a subwoofer amp to power the 10" sub for my box. This amp can be mounted on the rear seat, under the rear deck, or under the trunk mat beside the Bose amp.

Don't mount your amps on the bottom of the rear deck, as an amp in itself is in most cases one large heat sink and, since heat rises, mounting your amp "upside down" will in effect heat up more than normal the main board thats designed to be underneath the heat sinks (to stay cooler), and in return you can burn out or "fry" your amp by doing so. The only amp that I would consider installing in such a position would be one that is in some way or form "intercooled". Just my 2 cents...
