I know that 03's with a vin less than 210800 series are not pre-wired for sat. My 03 has a vin in the 200100 series, but the Bose head unit has a SAT button? What are my options? Can I still use the stock head unit with a SAT reciever? I don't have the white plug in the trunk but I have a brown one that looks like a different size? HELP????

You can use the stock head unit of course, since you do have the SAT button, but you will have to run the wire from the head unit to the trunk... I am assuming the pic is not your trunk because I see the white plug. The easy way to tell if your pre-wired is if there is a sticker in the driver's side door jam telling you if its prewired. Since your vin is lower its very unlikely that its pre-wired.

 

since you are not prewired, <a href="http://g-owners.com/article_read.asp?id=19">you will need to get the prewire harness and install it</a> then you can just get the sat tuner & antenna and you will be set with sat through the factory system, using the sat button.

But if i were you i would just get a <a href="http://phatnoise.com/products/digitalmediaplayers/index.php">phatbox digital media player </a>and connect it directly to the back of the headunit....no monthly fees, you can use the steering wheel controls, & if you like mp3's you won't regret it.

i have no idea what that is for...but i don't think sat will work with it.

Thanks for the replies! The white plug in the pic was hooked up to the AMP. The brown plug i spoke of is on the right side of teh same pic. I have no idea what it is. It looks like speaker wire running into it, but it's deff longer than the SAT plug.
