I ordered a FD-7 unit and was wondering for those previous Innovatek gurus...where did you place your TV Antenna for best picture? And on average how good was the reception?

 

I've been thinking about buying the FD-5. Where do most people mount the dvd player. I plan to mount the antenna in the back window. Reception would depend on where you live.

I think the FD-7 is the new FD-5 because I don't see a link anywhere for the FD-5 on the left margin when browsing the actual website....did you copy that link from someone else's post?

 

If you don't have the NAVI, then some people put it in the upper cubby above the glove box...(just buy the OEM frame for the original ROM from the dealer)

If its small enough, people pop it in the glove box. 05 though, I doubt alot of models will fit no matter how compact...

If all else fails, mount it with the top side of the dvd player against the front passangers foot well...

 

The link came from saved favorites on my browser. I do have the navi. I wish I could move it and put the DVD there. I've been thinking of putting it in the trunk, but changing movies would be a pain.

 

I havent found a place where it works yet. It junk! The DVD player works great though. You can mount it like I mounted mine.

 

That looks like more custom work than I'm willing to do myself or pay for at the moment

I just bought the console from g352nv which mounts the dvd player directly under the radio. I've only seen pictures but it looks great to me. The other place i've seen it is the door's. Someone somewhere has a player mounted inside the drivers door facing angled upwards towards the driver. Its the last place i would ever have looked but its an awesome idea. Only issue being wiring it thru the door as you would need the rca's to run as well as power from the door to the footwells. g352nv's setup seems to work well since it mounts where your ashtray is right now. I also use the av electronics box with the tv tuner and im in columbus ohio. I drive around all day with the tv channels going. Downtown the signal is amazing, its actually flawless. Further away from downtown i get the more static we get but im amazed at the amount of clarity i get. Living here does have its perks i guess but dont expect anything in new york or even very rural area's. My antenna's aren't mounted, instead they are in the pillars.

 

I put my dvd player in the dash.

Also Gee Panasonic makes a tv tuner antenna. Let me know if your down and you want one. Imma place an order in a week or so.
