My bose speakers sound like garbage (yes, even worse than normal)

I don't know if they're blown or what, but I was driving to class this morning and the sound quality literally sounded like I was listening to a cassette.... it was muffled and staticky... sounded horrible..... They should be covered under warranty, right? I cannot listen to music like this, i may as well be gangsta about it and put a boombox in my passenger seat.... I have an 04 with the Bose... so what should I do?

I believe the warrantee on the sound is only valid for a year regarless of miles...

edit: Here is what is said about replacement of audio components...

"A replacement Radio, Tape Deck, Amplifier or Compact Disc Player/Audio Changer or Cellular Phone supplied by Nissan is covered for 12 months/unlimited mileage fromthe time of installation of the balance of the Basic Vehicle Warranty as it applies to audio components, whichever is greater.

Just in case many of you haven't checked some other posts... before you go blaming Bose for your sound problems, maybe you should know most of the system is not even Bose... the only speakers made by Bose are the rear deck speakers and the amp. I probably wouldn't buy the door speakers then either.. thank Nissan/Infiniti for clever marketing!

I don't think the door speakers are Bose. Only the rear deck speakers and the amp actually say Bose on them. The HU says Clarion on it.

The door speakers are paper and plastic garbage that as I recall were pretty much unlabelled. Other Nissan owners who do not have "Bose", get those same crap speakers.

Maybe alfhasg35 is right...He has a late model '05. Maybe they changed it so the door speakers are Bose? just a thought i guess.

I have an '05 model as well.. they are not Bose.. I would reveal my occupation, but trust me, they are the same speakers you will find in most Nissan cars. There are only a few select cars on the market with a full Bose system from HU to speakers... and the G35 is not one of them. However it is still not a bad system, simply just "stock" in nature.

whatever you guys say. my shtuff say "BOSE" on it. But you probably know better. "BOSE" door speakers, Clarion Tweets. It says what it says.

28156 AM900 "BOSE" 6 1/2" 04-16-05 is what it says.

As soon as I changed my HU to the Kenwood 7015 I really noticed that the sound was horrible. I'm going to get new door speakers a.s.a.p any ideas?

One thing that nobody has mentioned yet....what are your bass/treble/fade/balance settings? I use bass 0 or +1, treble at +1 or +2, depending on the song. I have to change it around often because of bad sound. Once I put the bass up to +5 to hear what it sounds like, and it sounded like I was in the bathroom at a nightclub (minus the wet floor and puke in the sink )

If you get the Bose radio, ALL the speakers are Bose even the ones on the doors and the tweeters too. Bose amp and wirering too. Only this that is not Bose is the DEFECTED(05) Clarion Head Unit. Gotta change my setting everytime I start the car or it sounds like sh*t!!!

This sounds like it's for replacement components, or maybe even dealer installed accessories? It doesn't sound like it's referring to the original equipment. It had better not be, because I just made an appointment today for my '04. The tweeter and speaker in the driver's side door is muddy/static-y intermittently.

I'm not trying to hi-jack this thread, but anyone care to take a stab at what's wrong? amp? crossover? Are they packaged as one component?
