Ive never been inside of a G with a stock navi, so ive never seen a navi in action.

Does the navi raise up from its compartment on its own when the car is turned on?

it's manual
you push it down with your hand and when you want to "pop" it out..you press the button so it will spring out.

 

the 05s automatically retract when the car is turned on and close when it is turned off. it can also be manually opened and closed with the top button.

 

looks like ill have to buy an 05

 

the 04 nav looks sleeker tho thinner with a metal looking housing.

hahahaha thats y i said, i was buying an 05. Imagine a girl u just picked up, comes inside ur car and u turn it on. The navi popping out is an immediate ******* hahahah

 

03 and 04 are spring loaded....you must press the button on top and itll spring out and you gotta push down for it to go back down in..

05 If left up, it will go up and down with the ignition. If left down, it will never go up wih the ignition. And you can just press the button on top once for it to go up, and once for it to go down...its motorized.

Yeah, maybe if you have the DVD mod and some ****... Girls in the real world are more impressed by the built in flower vase in the VW bugs then the amazing mechanical feats performed you your nav system.
