Any input would be great. This would be powered by bridging 2 channels of a 4-channel 600w amp.

I had the pioneer premier 12" sub in my car...that was awesome....

They have a new premier series spl sub out....I think I am going to get that.

Like $130 for a 12"

Kind of depends on what you're looking for. If you want something with great SQ and not just boom, check out the Image Dynamics IDQ12.

for that price range. i'd recommend the alpine type r.
i'm a high end audio guy and when my friend pulled up with his new type r, i was pleasantly surprised. for a sub he got for 150 it sure sounded almost as good as my idmax. it does sound a little sloppy on the really low end but other than that, it's a great sub for it's price

I'm surprised that no one recommended a JL made sub. How do they compared to the one mentioned above?

Id go with type R, I got mine about a month ago love it. I got it from ikesound.com for around 120ish shipped for the dual 2 ohm. Cheapest place I think on the internet really close to eBay price. The JL W3 is almost doulbe the price of a Type R, dont really think its worth it then, and the Alpine Type R has a bigger magnet and can take up to 1500 watts peak.

He stated he wanted something for less than $200 bucks, if you can find a JL sub that can beat out a type-r for less than $200 let me know.

Digital Designs DD2012a, marked at $169 right now and you order directly from the factory, may actually be cheaper than on the site, just have to call. I had 2 in my last car with 1000watts total to them in a ported box.

you know honestly it depends on whether you want something with a lot of bump or something that hits nice and clean. i mean you could probably get a cheap sub with 1000wrms handling capability but you would seriously lack in sound quality. if you're willing to shell out $50-75 more i'd reall recommend that you just get an IDMAX

Check ebay for a 12W3v2 and use it in a sealed enclosure. Nothing will touch this sub in the sub $200 price range. Just make sure u get the proper enclosure size and use the recommend wattage.

Thanks for all of the replies. Looks like I might go with the Jlw3

Now, What is the difference between 2ohm and 4ohm? Or does it matter which one I get.

Also, I value sound quality over Boom.

Do you know what amp u are using?

You normally wouldnt run a 4-channel into a single sub.
You should either bridge a 2-channel amp, or use a mono amp.
If you are running one sub you want to present a 4ohm load.
Again, if you value sound quality, make sure u use a sealed enclosure.

If you want SQ then go with the IDQ12 like I suggested earlier. You won't find a better SQ sub for the price.
