Best Buy
So we've established that Best Buy and Circuit City suck working on cars like ours. These places should only work on "basic" cars where the wiring and electrical system is simplistic enough for the 16 yrs olds working there.
But what do you guys think about HiFi Buys (The Tweeter Company)?? I've never had them do any work for me, but after talking to them, they seem to know their **** and do some good work.

If HiFi = Tweeter (used to be NOW Audio Video), I do not like them...but others do. I've been told "it depends on the installer, you should really judge the store by the installer." My opinion is, if the sales guy is a jerkoff, I don't care if the installer is God himself, I do not want anything to do with the store. Call it old fashion or stupid, but I give my business to shops that are quality from the front door to the back, with all employees included. Giving my work to a shop with crappy all-around service but an awesome installer seems silly, as that installer will probably leave someday (probably sooner rather than later). This is how the two Tweeters near me are, but I don't even think their installer is awesome. Just eliteist/snobish from the front door to the back.
The only thing that makes the G "hard" is in order to switch the head unit you have to do a double-din conversion. Best Buy obviously will not do a double-din for you. Everything else; speakers and amps while not easy is pretty standard compared to your average car. You can always talk with the guy who would do it by just walking down to the install shop. I found that usually they have the supervisor do the install if your car is unique and the supervisors are usually pretty good even in Best Buy.

If you are saying they are easy while running the stock HU, I would beg to differ, even for an experienced installer, let alone a Best Buy installer.
What about just having components, sub, and an amp installed with the stock HU? It can't be too difficult for a Best Buy supervisor, is it??
Let me know your thoughts since I am not doing a double-din conversion, just a super-basic install.
