Why havent i seen any coupes with a Kenwood DDX Double Din Installed??
I just put one in (a 7017), I'll post a picture of it before too long. So far, all good. I need to live with it for a while before passing judgement. Went in along with a Sirius tuner, the iPod interface, and a PAC SWI-ALP unit (wired) for the steering wheel control replacement.
My only complaint - I'm not sure I'm happy at all with the trim ring. I'll make the one that came with the unit work, but if anyone has a better solution, pass it along!

Ddx6019
Just FYI. KW is coming out with a DDX6019 in March/April that will be a DDin unit. It will be compatible with their new 2006 bluetooth adapter; however, I believe it will not be an excelon unit so sonically it might be a little weaker than the 7017 and 8017. That makes no sense to me, but whatever. This all comes from the KW contact person I found on their CES webpage.

i put in the kenwood sirius tuner and mounted the antenna on the front dash in the passengers side corner. i have 5% tint on the sides and rear so that wouldnt work too well. i have 30% on the windshield and it seems to be able to pick up threw that.
i also installed a ps2 slim in the lower glove box. had to drill out the back though a little bit to be able to close the glove box with the ps2 still connected

the last pic shows the big hole i had to drill for the connector to go threw. i didnt have a dremel so i had to use a 1/2inch drill bit. im goin to borrow my buddies dremel and fix but hte hole and make more of like a rectangle so it will look alittle better

hey guys, im finishing up my kenwood 7017 double din install tommorow. I got the new bezel together, and the deck mounted in the stock bracket. I tried putting on the trim ring and it wouldnt fit so i trimmed the inside edges. But it still sticks out on top of the double din finisher a lot and the kenwood deck sits recessed inside quite a bit. I dont like how it looks at all.
What did you guys do to make your trim rings fit on the kenwood deck?
Also, did you modify the stock cage at all? It seems like using the stock holes makes the deck sit too far back.
