When searching for my radar detector, I referred to this:

http://www.myradardetector.com/compare_all.htm

I bought the Passport Escort 8500 X50. I love it!

That first site is run by Radar Roy who doesn't sell the V1 so he isn't going to give it a great review when he sells the competition.

That second site has no credibility at all.

The Valentine One is the best radar/laser detector on the market today.

http://motortrend.com/features/consu...r_buyersguide/

"This year, the measurement of the radar and laser detection abilities of each of the over $200 units gives the Valentine One ($400) a small edge over the competing BEL Vector 995 ($260) and Escort Passport 8500 X50 ($300 with red display or $340 with a blue display) units."

V1 is the best in laser detection:

http://www.laserveil.com/laser-detec...adar-detector/

http://www.laserveil.com/laser-detec...ice-laser-gun/

V1 has the best rear radar detection because it is the only detector with 2 antennas to locate radar:

http://www.radardetector.net/viewtop...214&highlight=

V1 is the least detectable detector by RDD's or Radar Detector Detectors in states where radar detectors are illegal. The Spectre III is the most used RDD in the world and it can only pick up the Valentine One if it is 166 feet or closer which is better than the X50 which can be detected 954 feet away.

http://www.radardetector.net/viewtop...383&highlight=

The Valentine One which accounts for only .6% of radar detector sales wins every poll when it comes to being the favorite detector. The X50 doesn't even get an approval rating as high as George Bush's worst rating.

Radar Roy from Radarbusters.com said this about the Valentine One, "Just spoke with Carl Fors from SML, his website will be going online tonight with the 2005 results. He has declared the V895, 8500 and the Valentine One as the top performers. Motortrend, who was also at the test, will be declaring the Valentine One as the top detector based upon its detection of laser.

http://www.radardetector.net/viewtop...=4696&start=90

Radar Roy said, "There were results that they (Guys of Lidar) got during the test that I was not exactly pleased with, such as the discovery of the Blinder not having Stealth Mode installed and the Valentine beating out the Escort and Bel in the range tests. Even though I don’t sell the Valentine, it does have slightly better range than both the RX65 and the 8500 and I also show this same fact on my site. Would love it to be the other way around."

Here is a link and video of the V1 alerting to radar quicker than the X50 and sometimes the X50 didn't alert to the radar at all. They are quick pulling the radar gun's trigger and the X50 is filtering it out and the V1 is picking it up every time.

V1 wins in POP detection:

http://media.putfile.com/JammerTestscom_tests_V1X50_POP

V1 wins because it detects a certain laser gun in stealth mode while the X50 remains silent:

I'm not sure who you are RadarKing but a quick review of the few posts you have on here consists of trying to sell some V1 related equipment (concealed display for one) and a whole lot of posts where you are (practically religiously) defending/supporting the V1. You seem hardly objective about this whole thing... are you a reseller or something?

To the original poster, there are many threads on this board comparing detectors... some of them are very heated and passionate and have very little objective information, others have lots of tests, reviews and break down of stats. You should find plenty of info.

Wow...thats a lot of info.

From my personal experience having tried all three of them the Bel and the escort are much better than the V1.

The Bel died after only 2 years, that's why I went with the escort now (even though they are the same company).

The reason I didn't like the V1 was mainly the following reasons:

1-Can't read the display at night because its only a red dot that lights up. Its hard to tell which band is going off. Since I do most of my speeding at night, this was very important. The Bel actually talks to you, and the escort lights up the band, so much easier to read.

2-The V1 was not loud enough. I couldn't hear it over my radio. Bel and escort I could.

3-The V1 falsed too much in the laser for some reason compared to the other two.

4- The blue lights and overall design of the escort is much better than the outdated look of the V1.

None of these are really big deals to most, but for me it was enough to send the V1 back.

If you buy any one of these three you've made a good choice. There is a new Bel also, I think its called the STI (retails for $449) that I heard good things about.

Seriously, the only post he has are about radar detectors! Plus he practically cuts and pastes the same crap in each post. Sounds like a good candidate for the ignore list.

motor trend ranked the passport x50 number 1 because it costs 100 less than valentine one and was only edged out in x band which is pretty much ancient. ide ebay an escort 8500 x50 and buy it. around 250 shipped to your door. cant get much better than that.

Well whoever he is, he is correct. The V1 is the best period. And all his info is correct after all the years I have seen. I owned both a 8500 and a V1 and the V1 hands down blows my 8500 out.

1) The little lights are hard to read I agree. But you listen to the different tones and you can tell the difference between which band.

2) BS, my V1 is way to damn loud. I can hear it over my blaring stereo.

3) Mine doesn't false at all in L mode. But I will say its better to be more sensitive than not go off at all and get traped.

4) I don't see how the V1 is outdated looking. lol

Why because he is right and posted the facts? Get over it.

Who are you trying to convince, us or yourself? Three posts responding to constructive comments and attacking them? Give your opinion and let it go, you don't need to attack.

And as for RADARKing, he's clearly a tool.

I am giving my opinion and just backing someone up that is correct with backed facts.

Don't nail him when he is right. A tool for posting facts?! Wow, I am amazed of the people on these forums these days.
