Alpine IVA-W200

Does anybody have the alpine IVA-W200 in there car?I just need some input on it before, I purchase one and put it in my car. Im in the process of converting my system to a double din that has mp3, cd, dvd, navigation and bluetooth technology that's not over 2k. Thank you in advance.

I'd wait a few weeks. Prices should come down slightly. There are a couple of units on ebay right now. They're all at or above MSRP. I've been waiting a couple of months for this unit so a few more weeks won't bother me. And, FYI, the unit is Bluetooth-ready and requires and additional unit.

decent price....$200 under retail

i would jump on it but the not having navi is what kills it. if it had navi i would be all over it!

That's the only reason why Im not buying it right now. If it had that option I would definitely jump on that.

The Alpine Bluetooth unit (KCA-100BT) has a separate button. I would speculate that you could splice in the wire from our steering wheel Bluetooth control to answer/end calls. The function probably wouldn't be identical to the OEM button function but should suffice. I'm not sure about the voice dial button. Here's an image of the button:

2004 and newer Ai-NET head units are enabled for hands-free Bluetooth connectivity with the KCA-100BT. Compatible with many Bluetooth mobile phones, the KCA-100BT gives you the power to listen and talk wirelessly with ease through the Alpine in-dash head unit – even if the phone is stowed away. The KCA-100BT automatically initiates network connection upon entering the car. It comes with an external call control button that can be mounted on the dash, for simple call-receiving and call-ending. A microphone and visor clip is also included.

Crutchfield? I'll bet you paid full retail for all of that gear. What'd it run you in total? $1,700?

Wrong

First, they're way too expensive.

Second, their new self-contained portable Navi unit which reatails for 550-650 hooks into it.

I've actually now started looking at the Panasonic CD-VD6503U unit. It's about $300-$400 cheaper than the Alpine unit and feature are pretty similar. I've always preferred Panasonic video to Alpine.
