Can I add subs to my Bose system?

Hello, I have a 2003 coupe w/ the bose audio, I was wondering is there a way to add subs in? I heard that w/ the bose you cant swap out any of the bose speakers or else it will *** everything up, but you can add sub? I dont know anything about car audio. I was thinking of 2 x 10's I hear good things about eclipse. Hopefully its possible for me to just add an amp + subs to the current configuration, what kind of amp would I need... i dont know anything about channels etc... thanks for the help!

You can use any amp you prefer. If you're looking to only add subs, then a single channel mono amp is good enough. You can tap the signal from the amp to the stock bose unit. I think you should bring it to a shop to install it. It should only cost between 40-60 dollars for installation.

I don't know much about this, but when I called my audio shop they said I need an adapter that costs about 250 so I can control the bass levels for the sub with the stock setup. Does anyone know about this?

I'm working on this very project myself on my '06 Coupe w/ Bose. I'll be done once my amp gets here later this week. I'll do a D.I.Y. once it's finished. For now, here's some links to the resources I found helpful:

https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...ighlight=power

https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...lifier+install

https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...ight=amplifier

I hope this gets you started. Do a search in the Audio/Video section and you should find all kinds of helpful tips.

I added a Rockford amp for this very reason. It comes with a wired remote to allow you to control base response. You could use an LOC to convert your input to the amp, but I just fabricated my own. The requirement for that would really depend on what your amp could handle.
