Incredibly Helpful

Thanks bradakrez. This thread was perfect. Installed my IPOD USA Spec PA11-NIS today. Took a little over an hour and I did not even break or scratch anything doing it. I drilled a hole large enough to fit the IPOD cord thru the base of the top compartment of the center console. The IPOD attaches to the inside of the top lid when open, can be pulled all the way over to the passenger seat with ease, and when attached looks like it is mounted there. Incredilble addition to a near perfect ride. ( I know I need a newer IPOD)

Would this install work if you have the Bose radio and no satelite radio?

you dont need satellite....but all bose radios (05 and up i think)that comes with the premium package is prewired for satellite, even if you dont have it....you can buy the oem receiver later and its an easy install....just search for the thread.....and if you dont want satellite...you might want to look at the usa spec pa11 interface rather than the pac interface.....read the beginning of the thread and read some of the pros and cons and also read up on the difference on pac nis2 vs usa spec pa11

This a great DIY. How long did this job take? Also curious about mounting the PAC. where did you mount and secure it? Was finding enough room a problem?

Also one dumb question - why do you put the windows down at the beginning of the installation?

thanks

thanks jbongo....it took me about an hour to figure out and follow another guide on how to remove the radio.....and i really didnt mount the pac anywhere, all i did was stuff it into the area behind the cig lighter/coin thingy....heheh.....and i put the windows down so it wouldnt be too hot!! hehe....actually the service manual that i bought on ebay told me to put the windows down first...probably just as a precaution so you dont get stuck in you car!

Awesome writeup!!! Putting the windows down before you remove the negative terminal of the battery is for the coupe only. It is because the windows move down slightly when you open the door. Then after you close the door the window goes back up to create a air tight seal. If you dont roll the windopws down before disconnectine the battery, the window wont move and you will mess up your window and the roof panel of the car when you close the door again...VERY IMPORTANT...

Did my install tonight...
Many thanks for the "How to"...don't think I could have done it wihout.
Quick note: make sure the steering column is in the highest posiion to get to the silver trim...it'd pretty much impossible to take off with the column any lower.
Thanks again!

Installed my ipod adapter last week, using your DIY. I was a nervous wreck, but it went exactly as you pictured it. Great DIY. Manufacturers should hire you!! I only wish their instructions we so clear and complete.

thanks for taking the time to do this.
