what class for autocross

i was reading the rules for the scca autocross and there is a lot to read , over 350 pages . looks like we cant have over 9 inch rims for some classes and no after market sway bar in the rear for others . i am going to get after market rims and tires for racing so that will solve my tire problem unless i can run 9.5 rims with 245 40 19 up front and 285 40 19 in the rear , but i'm not sure how big we can go . i have s-tec springs spc front a arm , spc rear toe and camber . hotchkis sways . i do not have any drive train mods yet , so i'm good there . anyone have any suggestions , or know what class i would be in ?
thanks in advance

P.S. use 18" rims instead of 19", they are usually lighter, lighter tires to boot, save rotational weight whenever possible.

Sure, but unless he runs R-tire, otherwise he will get slaughter out there in both FSP or in PAX scale.

From what he wrote, i think he intend to run street tires, which makes him legal in STU class

r-tires are race compound tires, still DOT approved but it has low thread wear, massive amount of grip.

They are from less aggressive (still able to drive on the street for a little) - Advan A048, Toyo R1R, Nitto NT01R; to full race (you shouldn't drive these on the street) - Hoosier A6, Kumho V710, and BFgoodrich R1.

if you want to stays in street tire class, its a wise choice of you to look into 18s, especially you will have more tire option with that size. Falken 452 isn't really competition intended, if you want to have more fun and way more grip, give Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star spec a try, I guaranteed you you'll love it. Most people thought it wear out fast, but few of my autoX buddy and I were all surprised by that. The attractive part is, Z1 star spec is cheaper than the class winning Bridgestone RE01R(replaced by RE11 now), and perform just as well if not better than RE01R.

good luck man

You will need a base line to build from. So go out there stock and learn how to drive it the way it is.
While there, keep your ears and eyes open and see what works.
Then build yours up as you find out how to use what you have and see what works. There are a lot of high power cars out there that can be and are beat by cars of less stature, because of the difference in how well a driver knows how to use what the car will do.

I suggest STX. You can run STU, but that is open to any size NA engine and up to 3.1 forced induction. STU is occupied by the Subie STi. You stand a much better chance in STX.
