Bondo works fine. I haven't had any cracks on my grill and I don't think Marcus has either.

^for sure it works fine, just mine did crack a little and if im going to be making them, i didn't want there to be ANY problems with it cracking in the future.

Its on my car now and I really like the way it looks as it is. Now the only thing that's bothering me is how the headlights stand out so much, I might have to get some eyebrows for them. I'll post pics in a little while.

for those of you have done this DIY what was the cost of all the tools needed to perform this including the paint? I want to do this myself but I want to get an idea of how much I would be spending from start to finish.

+1 on what Shane said, it'll cost you ~$60 (excluding a spare grill) to complete the DIY. Just remember to take your time.
