Holy Crap! This is just about the ONLY complaint I have of my 03 Coupe. I'm 6'3" and have to slouch in the seat just to drive it. I'm at work now and almost feel like calling out sick just so I can do this mod immediately! I'll post once it is done.

I'm only 5' 8" but being able to lower it makes me feel less like the bus driver compared to everyone else.

OK - so I got this done yesterday. Due to the fact that I have hands the size of hams and crappy tools it took me longer than expected to get this done. I ended up taking the entire seat out of the car because I wanted to adjust both the front and rear bolts to make the seat sit as low as possible. From start to finish - about 2 hours. That includes about an hour of trying to do it without taking the seat out and about an hour to take the seat out, adjust the bolts, and reinstall the seat.

End result - about an inch more headroom which allows me to sit more upright in the car and not have the seat leaned back so far. Nice mod!!

In the 06 sedan there is not a bolt but some kind of lock nut, it is circlular with a slot on only 2 sides of the circle. 14mm does not work. Not enough room to put pliers even with all the way up.

Edit 6/30: Actually i'm not TOO confused after going through the thread more completely. I was just curious as to which way you push the nut? towards the back of the car? or towards the front of the car? In reading Gword's post, it said towards the front of the seat? please advise, thanks!

Move the nut and the washer. You can move it all the way to the front but the nut will come screwed off the track if you do, it'll go back on easily if you accidently do that. Mine is off the screw like that and thats fine for me but I wouldn't recommend because my seat is stuck all the way down now.

Nice! thanks i'm going to try this when i get home. I'm so upset i never found this thread earlier lmao! I'm 6'2" and that's not a huge problem but its also that i spike my hair making my effective height something like 6'4". So i always have to prop open the sunroof door for room hahah. Alrighty so just to confirm alls i do is screw the nut towards the front of the car and to prevent the seat from coming off the rail leave .25" space?

Not that I know of. I've taken the seat out of the car to see if it could be modified but nothing short of getting new seats will get you any lower.

Awesome mod. This shouldn't be hidden in the dark corners of the DIY section... the headroom issue is a very common complaint, and I'm sure a lot of peeps still dont know about this mod.. Thanks to the OP for saving me from years of of neck pain

well I just failed this mod. I couldn't get the nut to turn forward no matter how hard I tried. It's just so uncomfortable... I think my set of pliers just sucked though. Those damn things didn't hold on tight enough no matter how hard I squeezed. And the nut wouldn't budge either.
