Some advice.

1- Did you move the nut towards the front of the car?

2- Slide the rubber peice right next to the nut when you are done. The seat motor will stop turning if it thinks there is an obstruction in the way. The rubber washer will make the seat think this, it happend to me.

3- Do not turn the nut so tight towards the end. Leave a slight gap. Again if the seat thinks there is an obstruction it will stop. If the nut is too tight it could be causing the seat to not move.

4- Does the seat give any reaction at all, then stop? Or does the seat not even try to move? If it's not even trying to move you may have loosened a electrical connection. Check the wiring.

I just did this after figuring out how exactly the nut thing worked.

basically there are two nuts one behind the other, the one closer to the front of the car is a stopper for the one behind it, so instead of making the car go up and down to adjust it. I just use my hand and twisted the nut closer to you counter-clockwise far enough till you can see the stopper nut.

Then use a set of pliers and start turning the stopper clockwise until it's almost as far as it can go towards the front plate. then now manually turn the other nut back clockwise till it touches the stopper nut.

Now im definitely sitting lower and doesn't feel like Im on a platform while driving..hah.

I just got my 07 G w/sunroof, and my seats are different from those in the pictures. However, I found a threaded rod with a 13mm aircraft nut on the end that acts as the stop for seat height, which is accessible from under the front of the seat rather than the rear. Quite easy to reach and by backing it off a ways I ended up with another inch or so of headroom.

Of course, try this at your own risk.

Sweet mod! I'll be trying it soon.

Has anyone found any drawbacks to this? Any loose seats or lack of power controls?

From the amount of people that have done this and the lack of complaints, I'd say no one has had any backlash.

Has anyone tried this on an 06? I saw barrister had good results with an 07. Not sure when they changed the seat styles. Been searching for a used 6mt w/out sunroof forever now but if I can get more clearance on an 06 w/SR I will be driving it tomorrow!

it's pretty straight forward if you can squeeze your head and your hand under the seat.
