Bearing by the rear differential is leaking?... (PIC)
So, looks like there is a bearing to the rear from the rear differential, connecting the rear of the differential to the chassis brace. And my bearing is leaking - there is thin (not too oil-like) black-ish liquid coming out from under the bearing seal. How critical is this, and what the hell is that bearing called?... Any help is appreciated...

Yes, those rear diff bushigns are filled with silicone. It can rip and leak with enough abuse. Good news is they are replaceable. Bad news is you have to take down the rear subframe to replace the bushing. Read this on my350z not too long ago.

SPL also makes a solid replacment bushing if you want to go that route but it will introduce a mess of noise into the cabin.

i don't get pissed off, dude. i was pointing out the obvious.
no, i'm out of warranty. i'll get a couple of quotes first, before i decide which route to go.

If you just replaced the leaking one then i would think the noise would be even less. I can't remember the price on the entire subframe, but seeing as Nissan doesn't sell just a replacement bushing this was a cheaper fix for me that I'll never have to worry about doing again.
