At least in my circumstances, the creaking problem is very dependent on temperature - hence it's seasonal. Right now in the hot DC summer, I barely notice the sound (though it is there). But come fall and coolers temps, the noise is guaranteed to come back with a vengence, and there will be lot's of posts on the forums all of a sudden.

Jason- Just for my education, what is a "service file". Does that refer to pending updates to the online parts system, or something special, etc.?

Service file is basicly a part number that has more info to it...

For example...

When entering a part number:
12345-AB123

In the part description it may say "SERVICE FILE"

So then we put that part number into a different parts system and it will give more info on the part...

For example, it may say to use a certain number for specific vehicles, or say use multiple part numbers to fill a quantity of 1...

So it may ask you to use...
12345-AB987
along with quantity 2 of 54321-AAAAA

So in alot of the "Online Catalogs" like our OEM parts web site uses and some other stores use as well, the part numbers that go to a service file generally do not work or give false price information...

Agreed on the seasonal thing. It makes a little noise now since it's the hot summer time but it made a lot more noise during the fall/winter months. If I can't get my dealer to replace these things under warranty in the next few months before it runs out I may try the DIY method that some people do for making solid motor mounts. Just need to find a proper resin to fill the compression rod bushing area with. And if that still doesn't work then I'll give in and just buy the new revised rods.

I'm getting my compression rod today or tomorrow. Well, whenever I am home to receive it from UPS so I hope to have it installed very soon. I only ordered the right side one, which is the side giving me the problems.

I never realized the squeaking/creaking noise was due to a torn bushing, I just thought it was stiff or rusty or something. So if I have torn up compression rod bushings, is that allowing some uncontrolled movement of the knuckle and wheel? I'm not sure exactly where this piece fits in the suspension.

I personally don't think that the creaking noise is caused by torn bushings. I think it's simply a matter of friction noise. AFAIK, the bushings remain structurally OK.

My question here is this.........I had my passenger side compression rod bushing updated due to the TSB for the steering drift to the right. How does that effect the probability of any creaking issues down the line?

I believe that unless you got the supposed new part that fixes the bushing design, you are only going to postpone the creaking noise for a little while. Eventually it comes back, and is most noticeable when the weather is cool. Around some weekend in late September, there will be a flood of posts about strange noises! My 04 sedan creaks like a school bus when the temperature is lower, but right now (in hot August) I barely notice it at all. YMMV.

Jason,

Can you confirm if the following sides correspond to the correct part numbers:

Left side (Driver side): 54468-AC70F ??
Right side (Passenger side): 54469-AC70F ??

I think I might have received the wrong side from my vendor.
