I got my compression rods replaced this week, just within the warranty. There seems to be yet another new part number. More info in this thread.

NO NEW NUMBER! The part numbers that were given to you / installed on your car are for a G35X.

My post that is in your thread...:

You have a Sedan??

Your Sedan does NOT look like it is an AWD G35X...

Those part numbers only apply to the AWD G35X?

?????

CONFUSED?!?!?!?!?!

Please send me your VIN Number...

The service file goes from a AC70A number to a AC70F

AC71A went to AC71F only for the G35X!!!@!@!@!

2003 G35 compression rod

I have a G35 which is making a lot of noise in the front passenger side. The dealer told me that i it is a compression rod issue and needs to be replaced. He said I need these two parts:
1) Compression rod (54468-ac70f)
2)40173-al500 (don't know the part name)

Does anyone know where I could get these parts (and what is the price range). Also, could any mechanic, that deals with luxury cars, install them or do i have to let the dealer change it?

Thanks

I need to replace my Compression rod on passenger side (right).
both are dead, I went to dealer and get a 425$ bill for 1 side.
I can't pay another 425$ for the other side

Jason@Riverside:
Can I order one from you
My car is a G35 2003 Sedan and looking for the passenger(right) side

Thanks

I have a old but good passenger side one that I might be able to sell you if you want. I bought a new one to replace the old one cuz I thought it was making noises, but turns out the noise was coming from a loose bolt on my coilovers.

Really don't want to buy one if possible. I don't need a good one perse. Just one not totally screwed up so I can take a look at some possibilities. The bad parts would get replaced anyway.

Even Civics costs $1200 to maintain, time to get use to the costs of V6 and weight on an entry level luxosport.

The early Q [90-96] ate tension rods [caster] and upper links [camber] at 60k and 30 k respectively about $1400 + $800 in shocks every 60k............$800 over the same interval sounds dirt cheap to me.

Tires, brakes, and rubber parts suspension is the entry part of mainteance and repairs before the expensive stuff starts failing after warranty!
