I was talking to a service manager at Stillen about getting the Tein basics, but he said I could achieve the same performance level if I go with the D-Spec (http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?i...odel=G35%204DR) for 2/3 the price. Besides he said the Tein basics will be pretty noisy. What do you think? How much will the drop be for the D-Spec?

what springs are you planning on using with the tokico d specs? the tokico's are only shocks whereas the tein basics are coilovers which are integrated spring/shock. the basics are height adjustable only and the dampening is preset. the tokico's won't lower anything...that will be determined by which spring you're using.

If you want more control, go with the D-specs. If you want a very good matched system that has height adjustment go with the Tein.

I think the D-Spec also comes with the springs. It's a spring/shock combo I think.

I don't mind the extra cost of the Tein basics, but from what I heard, the noise is one of the reason I don't want to go with the coilovers.

basics aren't that much more....they are around $800. the tokico's are less but you'd have to buy springs.
