Car going to either side when braking?

Hi,

Depending on the road, when I break, I can can pulled to either side. Is this normal? I've never had this happen with any of my other cars/SUVs.

It only happens when the street is uneven (even slightly!) or bumpy.

I was driving on the highway and i had to break suddenly and it pulled strongly. I can't imagine this being normal.

Thanks for your help.

Denise

I find this only happens when traffic load has worn ruts (channels) into the road, and the edges of the tires are catching in the sides. On flat roads, haven't had this happen.

I even get it on flat roads when the road might lean to either side, even if it's not visible to the eye. It's not as bad a pull, but still a pull.

It's normal, I experienced it on my other vehicles...especially with aftermarket wheels with wider tires.

You may want to check your tires and your tie rods.

I get the same on bad roads, like mentioned above with the roads tracks from heavy traffic. also wouldn't tire inflation affect that too? if one tire has less air than the other could that cause it to pull either way? I keep my tires at 45 psi. just wondering if it would.

Why aligments specs have a maximum or cross wheel camber, caster, toe spec.
If the power on vs static vs braking thrust angle changes obviously the vehicle will pull differently.

I'll be bringing it for service soon so I'll get it checked out. It just doesn't feel right.
