I have these and am happy with them. Don't forget to paint the rotor surface (both sides) with a light coat of high temp paint before installing them to help inhibit rust.

If you're going slotted/cross-drilled, these are a great bang for the buck and will stand up to hard track use too:

The op said he wanted a good price. I know those rotors are great and the multidirectional air flow internally probably keeps them cool, but you can get front and rear from R1 for what one front costs from DBA.

Those are the same rotors as the R1 premium rotors except for the drilling and slotting on the R1's. No argument from me.

best bang for the buck was the stoptech stage 2 setup i went with, 547 picked up. Included slotted rotors (could have gotten drilled and slotted and just drilled) with Axxiss ceramic brake pads ands stainless steel brake lines. My braking is much better now, dusting about the same and rotors still look new after 3 months. I was worried about rust but havent seen a bit. I have a new respect for stoptech (rotorworks) products.

On the street rotor and thus pad temperature is purely a function of rotor weight and the thermal conductivity of rotor cast iron and how well this heat is transferred to the wheels.

Watch out for spacers and any changes [rust corrosion] between rotor hat and wheels.

Better rotors will usually require heavier rotors, If you want pads/rotors to operate 10% cooler you will need 10% HEAVIER ROTORS.

Simple to calculate rotor temperature rise. Car weight x speed = ft/pound/secs SQUARED = kinetic energy.......etc etc stop by 60 pounds of rotors [in 3 seconds] for accuracy do it for each wheel due to weight distribution and changes.

When you've finished you'll find that the brakes have 2 times more horsepower than the engine can create

Interesting...those R1 premiums are priced quite well...will have to look into those when the time comes.

Do you notice any increased ambient noise or vibration through the pedal with the slots? Or any decrease in bite?

When I first got the rotors I painted the surface to help avoid rust in the drill/slots and unswept area of the rotor. I was unimpressed initially, but I think this was because the paint had transferred to the pads. Since then they feel good, but I have not made any emergency stops to really try them out.

Thanks, I wouldn't be painting mine.

I got a good price from R1. $423 total for all 4 premium series rotars and ceramic brake pads. I'll swing down there and pick them up soon.

Do I need to change my brake lines, or the ones we have are fine?
