I just recently changed the rims on my car. I just put some 20X8.5 on it and a friend asked me if i had gotten an alignment. I really dont think one is needed but i just wanted to ask to make sure. Can anybody help?

 

Alignment is not be necessary with new rims.

Really depends on your offsets. My stock 18's shows no camber wear at first, and when I went from stock 18's to 19/9.5 +22 in the rear, i thought an alignment wasn't necessary cuz I didn't drop my car back then. Until my Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 bursted after 6K miles (these tires are rated at 280 treadwear, and costs ~300 bux a piece). It turned out my rears were at -2.1 and -2.5. I was trying to save 80 bux and it ended up costing me 600 for 2 new rears.

Moral of the story, if you can notice neg camber on your car (like the wheels are slanted in on the top), then get an alignment. It saves you hundreds for tires.
