1" to 2" drop on stock struts... how long til D-Day?

i just bought my G 2 days ago and told myself I was not going to do anything to it for awhile because I have a MR2 Turbo that I play in but after hanging out on G35Driver.com today, I want to lower it now lol

I want a comfertable ride that will last a while and do not want to spend a lot like i have my other car. I can do the labor myself but was curious if I just drop it an inch or 2 w/ springs on OEM struts.... how long do u guys think i have till the struts go bad???

i have an 03 coupe w/ only 29k mi.

aftermarket springs will wear down the oem shocks quicker.

You could roll on 350Z H-techs for a good 20k before needing to replace shocks. And you should look into the Tokico blue shocks, they are a good OEM replacement but will still last longer, and are much cheaper than Tokico Dspecs.

If your doing the work yourself than just wait.... but if your having it done than it might be worth the cost to have it all done at the same time (at least front struts) to save labor cost.

is there any way to make the stock shocks last longer?

how do u know when ur shocks start going out?

if i install G35 S-Techs and front & rear camber kits, how long can i go gdup35sedan?

err... lowering your car is so freaking costly...-_-... i would get coilovers, but damn .. = $$$

Since the car in quesition is a 03 coupe and it doesn't have the 05+ sport suspension's stiffer shocks, 350Z H-tech's are the way to go. Getting Tokico HP would give you shocks that are more like the 05 coupe sport shocks and give you shorter shocks, giving you back some travel that is in short supply. Though if money wasn't tight I would spend more for the D-spec.

Since your shocks are now 5 years old, it might be about time to replace them anyway.

when you do the springs.

I installed my H-Techs at about 20,000 and the shocks were done at about 50,000.

Trust me, you will know.

Your G will not be much fun to drive. You will feel the nose lift on acceleration and the front tires washing out around corners.
