"set back" alignment issue???

Does anybody have a "set back" alignment issue?? My front passenger wheel seems to be shifted more towards the front which is making my aftermarket wheels rub. I found this out after I put the wheels on awhile back. This isn't adjustable either. My driver's side doesn't have this issue and is even distance on both sides

Here's what set back is http://www.familycar.com/Alignment.htm#Set%20Back

instead my passenger side is actually "set-foward" WTF??

I have tein basics, 350evo arms, and 350evo sways..and the car has never been in any accident or hit any huge pot holes.

Dealer won't even look at it and i really need this resolved. thanks!!

Is the caster equal or offset? What does your brand new upon delivery alignment show*..............was the car perfect brand new or did it get tweeked during transport from Japan.

* Smart buyers insist upon a brand new alignment test print out to make sure vehicle is exactly at NOMINAL before accepting delivery! So they can watch and note progressive changes as the miles build up to plan the suspension rebuild from wear and tear bushings, bending of shock towers, impacts, etc.

argh. I wish i got an alignment before i took delivery of the car but i didn't. the car was bought brand new and I never noticed the suspension being off until I put the bigger wheels on.

Could it be the compression rod throwing it off? The compression rod was changed once under warranty. Dealership didn't notice anything bent from looking at it.. thanks q45

some adjustable camber arms such as SPL have caster adjustment capabilities

thanks. yah i was thinking the same... so I bought a passenger side spl arm that just happen to be on sale. I installed and adjusted to the max caster and it's still the same distance....

I thought it was the caster but it's different.. the wheel is shifted foward...

That is the functional definition of caster the amount forward of the centerline the contact patch is shifted. The rolling thrust equal or shifted forwand...........the positional load on the contact patch.

I found out it's the C R A P P Y compression rod!! i'm so pissed. So I took out the compression rod and brought it to a dealer to compared it to a new one. My compression rod's angle is COMPLETELY off. That's the same rod the dealership changed for the TSB drifting to the right issue. i hate infiniti

Duh! That's how ALL manufacturers have fixed drifting to oneside for 15 years by offseting the caster to create a counterthrust.

Whose fault is it that it caused problems with oversized aftermarket wheels certainly not Nissans

I'm a little confused here. You mention manufacturers have been bending arms for 15 years or something else? You're saying my bigger aftermarket wheels bent the arm? You did read I found out my caster was shifted fwd after I put on the wheels right? I noticed it since the wheels fill up the wheel well more.

Yup I'd say nissan's fault for a defective product.

Q45 I appreciate your input.I learn from your responses on the forums.
