Tein Basic vs Tein CS

Some questions about Tein Basics and Tein CS... just want to make a informed purchase.

1. Tein Basic Coilover setup, you can ONLY adjust the height of the coilovers, not the stiffness (damping) of the struts.
Is that a true statement?
If so, how is the stiffness on a range of 1 to 5 (5 being extremely stiffer compared to stock)?

2. Tein CS Coilover setup, you can adjust height of coilovers and stiffness of struts.
Is that a true statement?
If so, to do that, do you have to have the EDFC installed? Can you adjust the height and/or stiffness (damping) without it?

Correct.

Couldnt answer that, someone with a set must answer that.

Im pretty positive the dampening can be adjusted directly by physically adjusting some components on the coilover assembly itself. The EDFC is simply for the privilege of adjusting it in-car.

I think chilibowl hit it on the head. Adjusting damping on coilovers is normally done by turning a screw on the top of the shock tower, with EDFC it simply turns that screw for you electronically from within the car.

My TEIN FLEX setup is a pretty rough ride compared to stock even at the softest setting, but it was great at the track on Saturday

CS rides crappy on our Gs

and the Basics are close to stock sport =)

TEIN Flex is stiff as hell

the CS and the Flex are both compadible with the EDFC but the dampening adjustments isnt as noticable as tanabe's ._. IMO it could be a bigger difference.. but CS on stiff mold = bad ride ._.

Nice, thanks for the good input guys... yeah, I want something a lil stiff.
So, Basics and CS are out of the window....

Now, its Tein Flex vs Tanabe vs Bilstein.
I will do some research on them.

Thanks again.
