Strange VDC acting up issue

I'm sure it's been like this since I bought it, but I only really notice it recently. (Only got it 2 months ago). When I'm on an offramp, even if it's a slight curve, the vdc auto brakes and gives me the classic grind and I swear there's no way I'm slipping and if so, I can't tell why. Brand new tires in the rear and good tread up front. I can't imagine the car does that poorly tractionwise, my 94 super coupe slipped less. Happens even on normal roads with a slight turn at 45+ mph. Thoughts? Problem or common?

hey released truth, I dont know the answer but I've read ALOT of threads on this forum about that. try to do a search. It might take a while, but I think its worth it. Honestly, there are alot of threads with this same question. I think most people just took it into the dealership and i dont remember what happened but take a look. hope that helps.

I took a look at a few, but haven't found a thread with results yet. I'll keep looking, but it's good to know it's unusual.

Okay, I have a few things to look at. Rear tires are new so it could be:

- Low brake fluid
- New rears not broken in yet (unlikely) Pilot Sports up front, Falken FK452 rear
- VDC just plain sucks in general

Noooo....VDC kicks ****. It's saved me many times. I dont understand why people would want to disable it.

It does no such thing. It kicks in when it shouldn't and that's unacceptable, especially for what's supposed to be at least a higher performance machine.

Different tire brands (which means different treads and compounds) front to rear is your culprit. Stick to the same brand and type f/r.

I'll be on all Falkens soon enough once these Pilots gasp their last, but I hope that clears it up.

+1

Make sure the tires are the same brand. Different tread is okay; VDC will not kick in agressively unless there is a SIGNIFIACNT difference in the tires.

Also, check your suspension, brakes, lugnuts, alignment, everything. Everything has to be almost spot-on with factory spec for VDC to work the way it is supposed to.
