Brakes Advice on new rotors/pads for 04 g35

Hi,

I have a 2004 G35 with 50k on it and a mechanic told me that my rotors are pretty much gone. I personally cant tell a difference because they work great, but 50k seems about right for rotors. I have found a lot of forums talking about which perform better and have better heat distribution, but I never take the car to the track. (Got a bike for that . Can someone recommend rotors/pads for an 04 coupe with brembo brakes that work fine in regular conditions and don't make too much noise.

Thank you in advance,

Shawn

I'm pretty sure there's some cross-drilled, slotted rotors that aren't much more and are quiet. Plus they look a lot better IMO. Do some research on them

+1 on hawk HPS. Almost 0 dust and they work great. They don't bite as hard as the stock pads but they work better with heat and will fade later. As far as the rotors, i went with stoptech drilled replacement rotors and couldn't be happier.

I went with OC Autosports cliffhanger rotors and Project Mu pads. The brake feel is the same as OEM and there is a significant reduction in the amount of brake dust on my rims.

Either drilled and slotted or just slotted look good but I'm back to solid after cracking both. Drilled and slotted on the street and slotted at the track. Probably not as much of a problem with Brembos but the smaller base brake systems can build a lot of heat if you push them.

NAPA sell both cheap and premium rotors. The premium ones are made in Italy. They look good and are heavy. I found them to be excellent and did not fail at the track even when I overheated my Hawk HP Plus pads. This was after I destroyed a cheaper pair of slotted rotors.

If stock performance is good enough for you and you aren't tracking ceramic pads are good for low dusting.

If you son't have the Brembo brakes on your car, the Brembo rotors won't work.
