Passenger-side alignment issues
I had a set of 350z H-Techs installed a few weeks ago and had my alignment done yesterday at Firestone (different one than my previous post on the subject). All of my drivers-side spec are in range, but the passenger-side specs are way off. My car only has 17k on it and has never been in an accident. Here are the before and after specs...
I know that camber isn't adjustable on the front, so does that mean unless I get a camber kit for the front, my passenger-side camber will always be -2.1? I just don't understand how one wheel could be off that much...but then again, I know very little about suspension. Is there anyway to get it back into spec without new A-Arms? Any other specs seem out of whack to you guys?
Thanks,
Phil

it looks like they did not attempt to fix anything. Before and after results are identical. Did they raise ur car and then do before and after inputs in the computer and take off or what?
The fronts are not adjustable but at the same time the difference should not be a whole degree between the right and left side. Does the car sit even when u compare it from right to left?
Firestone FTL.

Their alignment bay was in the back of the shop so I couldn't see all that well. I could see my car was on the lift and they had those octagonal reflective things on the wheels. I could see that the tech would occassionally start my car for a couple of seconds while it was on the lift and then would turn it off. I assumed he was doing that so he could turn the wheels. After he was done, I had to leave right away so I couldn't ask them about the specs. After sitting there and looking at them, the only angles that changed were the FR toe from .05 to .04 and the LR toe from .06 to .05.

Well...I have the lifetime alignment deal, so I'll just make another appt...maybe at another location this time. I'll make sure I bring the specs from my first alignment so I can make sure there are actual adjustments being made. It probably didn't help that I was their first customer at 8:00 on a Sunday.

Hopefully you understand that alignment will change with load: driver, passenger, trunk weight and gasoline full to empty.
Alignment is actually preset misalignment so that at 55 mph going straight that this precorrection is used up to make the vehicle correct.
Engineers measure alignment under road conditions and come up with Misalignment numbers to hopefully make the vehicle correct.
Wear and tear along with changes in rubber bushings and minute bending in attachment to body points and subframes cause change in what WAS CORRECT BRAND NEW Alignment thus the extremely wide oem range to avoid warranty claims.
Tire wear inspection tells the truth and proves insight into what USED ALIGNMENT should be vs what was published for a brand new vehicle.
You and your suspension engineer [expert alignment technican] must come up with new alignment numbers in a used vehicle to correct for wear.
