Doesn't sound like they are done. Guess that means I'll get to install it in APR when I return from my cruise. That's cool. I still need to figure out what I'm doing for an intake in the meantime.

^^^ I'm in the same boat as you. I know I'll probably end up with a Stillen. But I wish I could just keep the stock airbox.

It's so efficient, why wouldn't we want to keep it, right!
First I'm going to see how much of it is in the way. I may just cut the box up and fiberglass it to get the STB bracket to fit.

I just bought my wife a car, so for the first time ever, I have a chance to put the car down. Normally I have to have the car ready to go at any time. Hence I can do an airbox mod now

yeah I got a pop charger but would want to go back to the stock air box at one point. I'm gonna mod the hell out of my box to try to make it work.
Well, I really am torn between the two intakes. they both have their pros and cons, i just want to switch back and fort for when I'm in the mood for something different.

Sweet I think with alot of us trying to make the stock airbox work. Somebody should be able to come up with a solution. Especially since the stock airbox works so good. Why spend 200 hundred for something that won't give me any gains. Rather use that for some test pipes.

From my experience there is no way that the bulky restrictive stock intake air box is the way to go for air flow in these cars. the box is restrictive by design to allow for the cars emissions and for it to abide by the California Air Research Board (CARB) criteria for emissions and for the muffled sound.
I have seen first hand almost all aftermarket intakes make better tq. and hp. numbers with a less restrictive aftermarket intake vs the lame stock air box.
Just curious as to why anyone would be so gung-ho about keeping the stock air box.... at least to this degree

This is just one example. I have personally done tests back to back with different intakes for the VQ35DE motor and pretty much every aftermarket intake I have come across was a little bit better across the board than the stock air box, that's for sure. ..... so why the

Here is another dyno sheet I found on a Pop Charger
